Steven Grimwood – Race Director

Welcome to the 2022 World Masters Cyclo-Cross Championships.

It is with great excitement that we prepare to welcome back our friends and visitors from all over the World to what is without doubt the friendliest World Championship event in Cycling.

From a backdrop in 2021 where we were presented with an ever changing situation and covid regulations preventing many riders from traveling. It is a relief now to finally be able to plan a truly global event with some certainty for both the riders and ourselves.

Over 600 Masters Riders from over 20 Nationalities will compete for the Iconic World Champions Jersey supported by enthusiastic fans, Supporters and a full programme of supporting events for younger riders.

I am also incredibly proud to be welcoming back a very special I/D-Special Olympics Championship Race for Riders with additional needs. A true highlight of my weekend watching the riders compete with skill and determination over our challenging course.

I am incredibly grateful to all our partners, supporters and volunteers who have helped us to bring this event to Suffolk and I look forward to welcoming you.

Ian Poole – Chairman – Eastern Cyclo Cross

The Riders and Members of Eastern Cyclo-Cross are looking forward to welcoming you all to what will be one of the crowning events of our long history. From National Series Events, National Championships and European Championships we can be very proud to have supported events that not only showcase existing talent but also welcome and introduce young riders and train new officials.

As an association, we are most proud to organise a regional league of 15- 20 events per season encouraging hundreds of riders to try out cyclo-cross and to make friendships that will last a lifetime. From under 5’s to over 70’s we welcome all and we look forward to welcoming our friends and visitors to the UCI 2022 Masters Cyclo-Cross World Championships.
